Aengumios 15, 2372 cont.

The DM recons one tiny thing from the previous session. Nobody was dead, anybody who was down was just unconscious.

People are going around base camp helping those injured and helping others get back up.

William and Nalagon come over to us and say we need a plan and kill these bastards. We talk for a bit and come up with a plan (maybe not a good one but it's a plan). The plan: in the morning the tip of the spear (The Ailyia of Five, Amriel and Nalagon) will travel to the area where the Sacrificial Altar is located. Nalagon will leave her half of the Sending Stones with William so we can communicate. Once we arrive we will make sure the area is clear and send for the Galarian Army (first wave of attack). We will send people in waves to fight. That way we will keep fresh people in reserve and try not to get everyone killed at once (because spreading out our deaths seems more rational.)

We all spend the night attending to the wounded and preparing for the coming battle. Its a quiet somber night; everyone knows what's coming in the morning. Naeren is freaking out (well no shit her niece was just kidnapped with the intention of being sacrificed so the god of Death can come to the plant). It’s decided Naeren will arrive with the second wave of fighters alongside William and Monty.

We took a long rest.

Aengumios 16, 2372 - The Spring Equinox

In the morning, Azi gathers all the fighters around him and gives everyone an inspiring speech (go team and kill the assholes). Even with Azi’s speech it's a somber morning in the camp. Everyone is off doing last minute preparations for the battle. Nalagon looks like she’s meditating. The dwarfs are making and drinking alcohol. Bandages and potions are being made. A makeshift hospital is being set up for the injured. The Galarian Army in organizing into regiments and practicing their fighting tactics.

Twilight falls and the moment arrives when the Tip of the Spear is to travel. The Galarian Mage gathers around the 7 of us, he’s ready to send us the Altar Battle Field. William comes up to us and says “Good Hunting”. Garret comes up to the Mage and says “make sure they come out facing the correct direction”. The Mage does his thing and we all feel a strange tingling sensation throughout our bodies. The last thing we hear is Garrett telling the Mage to ‘make sure they’re facing the right direction when they land.”

We arrive in the woods where the altar is. We come out facing north several hundred feet to the south of where the actual altar is due to some kind of interference around the altar. We appear to be approximately 500 feet away. We can make the location of the altar but can not see the altar clearly. The ground between here and there is bumpy and rocky and half way between is a stream we will have to cross. We can’t make out the altar clearly due to a large glowy dome of energy over the area. We can make out seven cloaked figures and Diana. We can see something tied down on the altar and we assume that’s Mag’s.

There are several groups of people in the dome. To the east and west of the altar are groups of people touching what appears to be a crystal of some sort. It appears they are channeling the crystal’s energy to power the dome.

About 150-200ft prior to the altar we can make out a lot of tree stumps. These trees were recently cut down to be able to build a fence in front of the stream.

Closer to us a group of assholes comes over the ridge (they’ve been waiting for us). Dude in the center appears to the man in charge of this unit as he gives them the order to start casting some spell. William quickly sends a message back to the Mage that we can’t get close enough. Then all of a sudden a strange feeling in the arms of the Ailyia of Five, as if a weight isn’t there anymore. We all look at our arms and our bracers are gone. We then recognize the dude in the center as Shinion Reybalar, the mayor of Eisgfion. He shouts to us that he is here at the bequest of his god Ailiya who apparently tasked him with helping the assholes because she hates us lesser beings. (PLOT TWIST). She also changed out Ailiya weapons so they could be tracked. Sorcha asks Shinion aren’t they worried they may die in this battle. He replies that he doesn’t care for his goddess will reward him. Okay so we’re now fighting these people.

Sorcha fires an arrow at Shinion and hits his ear (which probably did more damage than a 223 Remington ammunition and the ear probably won’t magically heal itself). We start combat. Tolvin and Althena work their counter spell magic on two of the casters. Shinion cast some spells at Azi and Sorcha causing some sort of black tentacle-like things to rise up around them and restrain them. Amriel knocks Shinion prone. Alagon kills a dude and Vistra kills two.

Vistra grabs her sending stone and shouts MOVE to the group. Right then a portal lights up and William, Dileus, Naeron, Monty, and others arrive. (William’s arrival is unclear to the author.) Also Lilly has arrived; she’s the new owner of the Armoured Goat and was adamant she be in the second wave. Upon her arrival she say “huh Greeny has arrived yet, oh well she’ll be here shortly my children will see to that.” Then Lilly starts changing form, She is getting larger and her already pale skin is getting paler and gets a silver hue. She has turned into an ancient silver dragon. (The author is unclear if we knew she was a dragon.) She is differently more friendlier than Verul and her dragon name is Arianwyn. She says “Shall we save the world or what?” and she breathes a cold line of breath. The reminder of our forces run North. More portals are opening up behind us (go Mage). The assholes have a look of shock on their faces; they were not expecting Arianwyn. The Galarian army starts appearing out the portals and the assholes are looking more and more shocked. They start retreating backwards.

End of Phase One Fighting

At the altar a glowing sigil is forming under it. Its black and purple mixed with stuff coming out of it is wisps and going to the dagger in Diana’s hand. The side crystals are now glowing bright purple.

We currently have about 1000 troops and a dragon. We push our way closer to the stream near the wooden fence barrier. Arianwyn, who had been walking alongside us starts to feel ill at ease with the crystals and takes to the skies. We prepare for another battle. The Ailyia of Five, William, Dilues, Monty and Naeran charge the center while the Galarian Army heads for the flanks and the dragon flies. We outnumber Diana’s forces, but we see two casters talking to each other, so this probably isn’t good. We also see some Humanoids and two larger demons: a succubus (Velle) and an incubus (Demhan, the ring steeler). Vistra calls up Tala (Water Elemental)

We start combat. Sorcha kills one, Azi and Amriel are restrained, Nalagon kills two. Arianwyn comes up from behind the asshole lines and freezes all of them, they are dead now (so long, farewell, Auf Wiederseh'n, goodnight). Just when we think things couldn’t get much worse, we hear another set of wings coming our way (god damn it). A gold light appears and a 15x20 ft circle in the sky opens up. We hear a thunderous roar and see a tricetop come charging out. But good news, that’s Gaia and she’s on our side (author is unclear when the wings come into this story).

Our transportation portal has shifted to the east and more people keep coming out of it (go team go). This wave of transporters includes Baab, Cyrus, City Guard, Hierarch Lyons, Wolfcast, Monk, Keyvon, Hurkonian Warriors, Afaris (the king’s wizard) and Monk Aywyn. The assholes in the east start to run away.

We start round 2 of combat.

Gaia takes a free attack on the Sucubus and kills it. William kills the Incubus. (Author unclear what happens next; notes are confusing something about walking up the line and Tolvin pulling out 9 vials and passing)

End of Phase 2

Some of the troops on the other side start running away screaming for the forest. People from Verul’s neck of the woods start arriving; mostly dragonborn in full plate armour (enter the Dragon Army, pretend there’s trumpeters playing fanfare music).

We have reached the area where the altar is. We have the altar surrounded. Verul finally arrives and Vistra shouts out “About time Greeny”, to which the disdain on Verul’s face is quite visible.

The black purple wisp mist is filling in more of the dome and we can hear the people around the altar start chanting. We try shouting an arrow at the dome but it just bounces off. We still have no change in the bracers. Azi asks Verul if those crystals bother her and she answers yes. A hole in the dome opens and Diana pops her head out and gives us a creepy evil smile and snaps her fingers (oh shit). A large black circle appears along with a deafening roar and smell of sulfur. The smell just keeps getting stronger and stronger. Then we hear another roar. We look and see a badly reanimated dragon hoovering in the air. Verul says “son of a bitch”. Alagon says “I guess this must be Dileus’s Daddy, Ovidron. Next we see hands clawing their way out of the black wispy thing; its Kohl reanimated.

In the east there seems to be some confusion. We hear a battle horn in the distance. We recognize that horn; the lizards. In the east corner are the lizards from Porzac. More people on our side, but the moons are getting higher. In the hole of doom we see the Basan ring starting to glow. This is it, we fight to the death.

We get into position and drink the vials Tolvin passed out (author guesses since there were 9 vials, 9 people drank, but not sure which 9). The vials are filled with a potion of heroism and we are blessed for 1 hour.

Enter Round 1 of combat.

Vistra looks at the moons and she knows from her vision we are running out of time. She screams to the group “we need to get moving, we have little time left”. Aywym does some DAMS (Dope Ass Monk Shit).

(For the sake of time, I'm gonna speed things up here). We kill people, Afaris turns into an Ancient Gold Dragon. Crystal caster are strong and not getting hurt by out attacks. Dragons fight overhead and greeny is bleeding. Galarians are fighting the hell mouth (forgot we entered the world of Buffy). Shamans are killing people. Somehow we know radiant damage is on the way and we warn everyone. Lyons pulls out their Holy Avenger sword. Tolvin and Vistra have a conversation about crystals and hell mouth and moving it and about lay lines. Crystal casters die and realize they were keeping the minions alive. Verul and Arianwyn are ripping Ovidron apart and drops him in hell mouth where he hits something that roars. Afaris doubles in size and rips the stones out of the ground and throws them into the hell mouth. The hell mouth hole somehow inverts and cucks all the undead back into it. The dome disappears.

We can finally see Mags. Hallelujah our bracers are back and the ring glows. We got one free shot. Mags polymorths into an owl and flies away. Tolvin develops a new permanent skin condition. Diana is dead and so are the minions.

We have the ring and dagger. The Wolfcasters take the ring and dagger and boxes them up separately. The black fog disappears and everyone who was dead is dead again. Nalagon asks what just happened? Apparently when the bracers woke back up, Toraches stopped time. One of the minions is still alive. She raises her hands and pulls back her hood. She says, “It was my duty to bear the vessel of Basan”. This bitch is Mags mother and Mags walks over to her and kills her.

Clerics go about healing people and dragons as needed. Arianwyn is from Cinnehill, a dragon sanctuary and with Alagon’s blessing Dileus leaves with her. The Galarian army makes camp and plans on heading to the port in the morning. The Tolmheim army also makes camp. Baab and Afaris tell us we need to return to the capital.

In the morning we hold our burials. The ring and the dagger are splitted up with one going with the Galarians and the other going with the Wolfcast.

Baab comes and gets us. The wizard and Gaia make ready to portal us back to Tolmheim. We are transported to the parade grounds and are greeted by the King. The King shouts “Three cheers for the heroes” and thousands of people erupt in cheering at once. The King also shows us where our statues are going to be placed. We are escorted back to the castle. The king says he will give us everything we wanted but he requires one thing from us: a victory tour. We agree and he declares three days are festivities (but somehow 3 days turned into 4). Day two Sorcha and Kai marry. Day 3 is a party at Toraches where Azi figures something out (author notes unclear) and Toraches takes away Vistra’s visions. Day 4 the tour route is planned; we will wind across the continent ending in Fiodhalart. The Scyer tells Tolvin he needs to talk to his parents about his uncles. The King calls the court together and orders Nalagon to kneel. He then awards her with the King’s High Order of Rharne, the highest award for the military and is very rare. Nalagon cries.

Aengumios 17-23, 2372

The victory tour starts.

Aengumios 24, 2372 A week and half later we reached our last stop, Fiodhalart. We our left along in the market minding our own business when a little girl comes up to Vistra and says “Hi Mommy”
