Session 54 Recap
Aengumios 9, 2372
We pick up right where we left over the previous session (which I have no idea where that was because someone threw my notes away.)
It's the morning of the 9th day of Aengumios in the year 2372. Garret Stormraven arrived the night before. He brought news that 1,000 Galarian soldiers and over 100 war mages are on their way from Galaria. They should arrive in a few days. Garret did the fast blink travel thing while the soldiers are coming by sea. Garret says he should probably travel to Talmhain to alert the King and the King’s army that the Galarian forces are here to help not invade the country. William says he will go with Garret as he is a member of the King’s guard. Sorcha sends word to Kai also about the army and Garret and Willaim’s heading to the capital.
Nalagon says we need to get out of camp since cleary Foiliag knows we are here. She gives us her opinions of what we should do. Her best option is we start walking east along the edge of the forest making sure we leave a trail of our movements (Ailiya Five heading this way catch us if you can). At some point of the walk, she suggests we use the tree beam thing and go somewhere else and hide. This is the plan we decide to do.
We leave, heading out along the edge of the forest east to Fiodhalart. It’s a six to seven day journey to Fiodhalart once there we will tree travel to another location. The DM is kind enough to give us one skill check each day. We travel three days and nothing interesting happens. We did notice a little more traffic on the path than usual but there are flyers going around the country telling people about the assembling army in Kazimir so they could be heading there. The third day is the day the Galarian army should have arrived in Talmhain.

On the fourth day, Althena gets a strange feeling. As we walked by an area she has this feeling that the area we just passed wasn’t right. Althena tells the group something isn’t right about this area. We stand there looking at it for a while, it seems pretty normal. Tolvin finally cast detect magic on it. He sees a large area screaming with illusion magic. We look up and see a cardinal flying above and then it disappears when it hits the wall of illusion magic.
Azi decides to send his owl (BTW Azi now has an owl too. His name is Castille) into the area. He flies forward and then vanishes but Azi , like Tolvin, can see through the bird's eyes. It’s a forest on the outside but big clearing on the inside. There is a stone structure in the middle that kind of looks like an altar (oh shit). There are shiny black stones with symbols he doesn’t recognize but there is a symbol of Basan.
We decide to walk through the wall. Once inside Tolvin, still detecting magic, realizes that this isn’t just a wall but a bubble. Whoever did this knew they had to hide it from someone who can fly. There is warding magic on the altar. Vistra walks in and about near pukes. She has overcome a splitting headache. She shares through the bracer what this is. Naeren sees Vistra’s reaction and the look on the other's face and realizes what they have just found. The question is can we destroy it. We need to let Verul and the others know immediately what we found. Tolvin uses the sending to alert Verul to the situation, “We found the altar inside an illusionary bubble near the southern edge at the forest. Send help or destroy.” Magalia sees the altar and just stares at it. She eventually becomes possessed by it and starts to walk towards it. When she is close enough she tries to reach for it and immediately is transported 200 years back in time to the Scottish Highlands (oops wrong show). We stop her before she can touch it.
Verul replies, the spot is mark and options are being talked about. The bubble is about 80-100 feet in diameter.
We hear back from Nalagon. The Galarian army has arrived and they are sending scouts to the altar to set up a teleport spell. We decide to get the hell out of the sacrificial murder area.

We wake up and something isn’t quite right. Vistra is the first to notice something is off. She says “what happened, this doesn’t feel right” only Vistra’s body didn’t say that. Tolvin wakes and his beard is completely gone. Azi realizes his armor is gone and, worst, he can’t feel Amriel or the Celestial plane. Vistra is the one who is probably suffering the most because for the first time in a really really long while Vistra is completely sober. What the fracking frack is going on here. By now the whole group is up and seeing their bodies are no longer theirs. Some fracky frack fracken just Freaky Friday us.
- Sorcha is now in Tolvin’s body
- Azi is in Naeren
- Vistra is in Magalia
- Tolvin in Althena
- Althena in Azi
- Naeren in Vistra
- Magalia in Sorcha
(Naeren has no idea how someone this drunk is still alive and Vistra keeps trying to drink but Naeren won’t let her put alcohol in Magalia’s body)
What the hell has happened. Suddenly we all hear a voice in our heads. It’s a squeaky voice saying “You’re not in danger, I just wanted to run an experiment. Wanted to see how this would work. Oh and the unicorn is okay.” We soon figure out the voice is coming from some Fay creature.
To the south there is a flash of light and several Yuan-ti people appear. The Yuan-ti used to be human until the snake god gave them snake-like features and they’re really into it.
We start fighting which is interesting because we’re all in different bodies. We go two runs of combat before we kill them all off. Then the voice appears again saying “that was two quick” and brings in a Spirit Naga and Yuan-ti Anathema. One round of combat is completed and the Naga is dead.
