Overnight

Azi and Tolvin read over several tomes each to prepare for later

Morning

Before Althena, Vistra, Tolvin, Azi and Archimedes (he’s alive again) head to the Grateful Woodpecker we are informed that the Scryer will see us tomorrow (i.e. can’t make him will everyone is chatting through computers).


Grateful Woodpecker
Sorcha and Kai (Hi Kai) meet us there. We order breakfast and chat. Kai tells the party he has nicer clothes for us to wear to the party tonight with the king (apparently our clothes aren’t good enough) and we’ll meet at his house to change. We discuss what the plan for the day is. The Plan: head to the temple of Agma to have a chat with Kohl about when he told us to go to the Collector.


Temple of Ogma
They haven’t seen Kohl since we were there the last time (not sketchy at all). They tell us he likes an old abandoned building on the edge of town, Party heads there.


Abandoned Building
Black Stone, Unusually dark considering its early morning. Party gets a strange vibe from the building, kind of like the vibe we had at the Stormraven Keep. There is no vegetation growing anywhere near the building. (Yep what could go wrong in here. Looks like we’re gonna do some fighting). We enter the building.


Room #1 - Antichamber
There are two chests here. One contains a trap the other is unlocked and trapless. Althena disables the trap and opens the chest. The chest contains a key, 5 copper pieces (divided among the group) and a note from Kohl. The note says: I'm going to eliminate you, and take my rightful place by Foilag’s side at the ceremony. Come and get me, if you can reach me…(I think it’s safe to say he’s not a good guy). The door to the next room is locked but not trapped. Tolvin uses the key to open the door.


Hallway and Room #2 (Entryway)
The door opens to a hallway with a wooden gate. Archimedes fits through the gate and doesn’t see a way in because he’s blown to pieces by the two floating skulls. Tolvin, a little pissed that his owl is dead and he has to wait an hour to bring him back, firebolts the wooden gate destroying it.

Sorcha casts pass without a trace and Althena and Sorcha are hidden from the Skulls while Tolvin, Vistra, and Azi will be spotted.

Fighting Order: Surprise attack - Althena and Sorcha. Once they attack they are seen. Azi, Flaming Skulls, Althena, Tolvin, Vistra, then Sorcha (this will be the order from here on in). Sorcha and Vistra each destroyed a Flaming Skull.

Pretty standard entryway. There’s a coat rack and symbols of Basan on every wall (this is gonna be great)


Room #3
Banderhobb (Dark magic Froggish Humanoide. (Large creature)

Everyone makes their stealth checks this time and everyone makes a surprise attack on the Banderhobb who is very confused at this point. Vistra kills the Froggy.

Room has two chests, one is locked and trapped. Both are open. One contains 150 gold pieces, which Tolvin tried to keep for himself until he realized he’d have to fight us. The second chest contained 5 copper pieces and a Potion of Fire Breathing. Sorcha took the potion and we broke the DM when we suggested using it in animal form.

Tolvin also steals a painting off the wall making him an art thief as well.


Room #4
The door to the next room opens without any trouble but we assume there may be a trap. We were correct. Tolvin springs the trap without problems and we all go into the hallway. There is a stone door and after a good push the door moves.


Room #5 - Kitchen
Two ways out of this room.

Not a lot in the room. There is a cabinet in the corner filled with pots and pans.Althena insists we take the frying pan. In the back of the cabinet is a switch of some sort. Althena uses magic hand to flip the switch which opens the wall and shows us a previous room. We decided which door to go through and stack the pots and pans by the other door as a warning sign in case any one or thing tries to come behind us.


Room #6 - Mess Hall
This one is filled with seven slightly large rats (chihuahua sized). Azi doesn’t make his stealth check; everyone else gets a surprise attack. Vistra turns into Koda. Everyone is responsible for killing the rats. The room is filled with paintings and tapestries. Tolvin takes a tapestry. Had to the pots and pans door.


Room #7
Unlocked wooden door. Larger room with altar covered in blood and chest on either side of it. Evil ceremony room. There are also glowing symbols of Basan. The room also contains a Drider and Drow Mage. We all go through a stealth round then go through several rounds of combat. Round two Vistra is “dead” and somebody gives her health. Round three the Drider dies and the Drow Mage vanishes. Azi casts detect magic and sees the pool in the corner is a pinch of transmutation and a lot of necromantic magic. He also sees when the Drow is hiding in the room. Vistra and Sorcha both thornwhip him and pull him towards Azi’s shield where his head falls off.

Open chests and they contain Ceremonial Robes - Black hooded robes with symbol of Basan. (Robes from Vistra’s vision) Tolvin puts the robes in his bag.

Group retires back to the kitchen where we will take a short rest.
