Battle continues

  • Trysyms summons a Water Elemental
  • Althena turns #1 into a Turtle
  • #10 raises his hand a white beam comes out and #3 vanishes. #3 was the last at the pentagram
  • The Ailyia Five all have a familiar feeling and times seems to stop and the 5 of us all get a free action during which #10 is killed and then time resumes and combat concludes

After combat things seem to be back to normal except for the area around the pentagram where things seem to be frozen in place. Sorcha removes #9’s mask, he is a human male in his 30s with dark brown hair. Althena detects thoughts and she gets “How did this happen, they’re not seven”. She also gets the overwhelming sense of fear from him. Going deeper she finds that he is more afraid of Caleb then of us.

When asked who Caleb is, #9’s is shocked and thinks about a large gathering of these people (cultists) but one in the center has a different mask.

When asked what his mission was he tries to fight Althena and only one word comes to his mind “Cessation”. Vistra casts Charm Person on him and he is charmed.

We ask him what they are doing, and he says “We needed more anker points, planar anker points” He tells us there was another to the west near the forest. That anker point had been disturbed.

We find out that they are working to contain all of the planes under their leader Caleb. He his not sure what race Caleb is or where other anker points are. He only knew of the one near the forest.

Cessation is to end everyone’s pain. We figure out that the previous anker was not at the Basan Cult battle, but it was during our time together. He says that other anker point was destroyed about 6-7 weeks ago (which a click look at the calendar we were able to determine that it was the damn egg.

We asked how he was supposed to get back to his plane and he said you Plane Shift. He also states that we are not the seven.

Regarding planes there are 25 major planes and a bunch of minor ones. #9 is from Acheron and his name is Kevin.

Tolvin investigates the circle, which is giving him the creeps as all motion in the circle is stopped. Azi suggests casting Fireball at it, which Tolvin does. The beam stops as it crosses into the circle. Tolvin throws a dagger into the circle and it stops in mid air. Tolvin tries to cast Detect Magic on the circle but it fails. The circle is made from blood. We send the Water Elemental into the circle and it vanishes when it touches it.

From Kevin, “Only the seven with the tools can restart things”. He doesn’t know who the seven are.

Several bright lights appear and more cultists show up. They take the dead and disappear.

Skey asks Tolvin about the box that he received from his parents.

The box is magical and is magically locked. We undo the lock and open the box

Somewhere this message was “For Tolvin. Find the seven. Use the Wolf Seer.”

Items in the box

  • A moon pendant necklace - Sorcha goes pale and frozen, its her mother’s necklace
  • A small silver box with a curvy triangle shape on it - Althena recognizes the symbol as that of the Feywild. It looks like a smaller version of the box that took her mother. She realizes the * cultists weren’t eliminating each other but rather transporting each other. Maybe her mom isn’t dead?
  • A rough metal medallion, crafted in metal and stone. It looks like a blood red moon. - (Sara’s notes mention a note about this in Discord, but I don’t see anything)
  • A statuette of an angel, with glowing gold eyes and a symbol of Torachas - Azi feels close to this, he gets a sense of family
  • A signet ring.- No connection to us
  • A faded military patch. - Similar to the Galarian, but not modern.

There is also an envelope addressed to Tolvin.

My Son,

I hope your aunt and uncle gave this to you at a relatively young age, and you’ve worked to assemble the seven of legend to stop the insane cultists. My biggest worry is that they wait until after the cult tries to stop the material plane from stopping them. I don’t have all the details, but I’ll outline what I know:
The cult has been at it a long time. They’re playing the long con, trying to stop the universe.
They’re going to attempt to collapse all the planes into one, effectively nullifying everything, at an anchor point, likely on the material plane, since it’s at the center of everything.
They are planning something to stop the material plane from interfering. They know I’m assembling data, and that the seven come from that plane and are prophesied to stop the pause.
I’ve included items to help you find the other six. Your lineage and resolve will undoubtedly make you one of the Seven that Held.
The relics of the Seven are the key to stopping the cult, find them! The Wolf Seer might be invaluable here, as they’re usually more powerful than even the Scryers of Torachas.
Find your mother. She can likely steer you in the right direction. Depending on when you get this, she may have fled to the Brass City.

I’m sorry I can’t be there in person to help you in this endeavour. It’s not safe with the cultists on my tail, and being with you or your mother makes you too big a target. Maybe I’m still out there, somewhere, when you read this, and our paths will cross. If not, good luck, and I love you.

Dad
  • These are not the 7 relics (I guess that is one of our next quests…)
  • Who is the Wolf Seer? Skey?
  • Brass City is the capital of the Elemental Plane of Fire

Tolvin suggests heading to the Talmheim and visiting the Galarian Ambassador about the patch. There are also historians there that can likely help as well. This is of course after we return to Tolvin’s “parents” who have a lot of explaining to do.
