Session 07 Recap
Althena Recap
We find ourselves back at the inn, The Monkey’s Uncle. We all gather in the dining room for dinner. Althena has returned from her mission. Gene introduces himself to Althena since she ran away before he arrived yesterday. We make casual small talk until the food arrives and we decide it probably time to share what happened yesterday.
Althena goes first. Althena received a letter from the locate Bard College asking her to come and help out for a day. When Althena get there, she meets a blue and white humanode bird who introduces himself as Dean Arobo. He thanks her for coming and tell her the college would like for Althena to demonstrate some of her bard skills. Althena agrees (not like she had much of a choice since Ben told her what she was doing). Arobo leads Althena to the campus arena. Along the way people keep staring at Althena (Althena hopes the shield on her back isn’t making looking at them).
Once they arrive at the arena, Arobo introduces Althena to Grorlea. Grorlea is a huge goliath bard standing at 6ft 5in and weighting in at 285lbs. (George Foreman won’t stand a chance). Arobo tells Althena that Grorlea will be in the arena with her as her assistant just in case things get out of hand. They all head into the arena where Arobo announces Althena as a member of the Ailiya of five (now she knows why people were looking at her). Althena will now demonstrate some her fighting talents.
First Opponent – Three goblins in a cage (doesn’t seem very fair but like Gaston, DM doesn’t care). Althena cast Vicious Mockery and the three immediately becomes incapacitated.
Second Opponent – Hobgob – Althena uses Hideous Laughter and the hobgob becomes incapacitated.
All of a sudden there’s a loud noise behind Althena and she turns to see a Giant Boar charging at her (somebody forgot the close the cage). Grorlea immediately takes care of the boar and stashes off to the side for his dinner later (wonder how he’s going to cook it. Wait is he gonna cook it or eat it raw, now that’s a thought that’s gonna fester).
Final Opponent – A dinosaur from the land of Jolene (Jolene, Jolene, Joleeennne). {At the point DM is now upgraded to an Asswipe, druids are not happy and really to kill}. A student frees the dinosaur and Arobo puts it right to sleep. Arobo tells Althena that he’s created a zoo where he keeps all these creatures at.
Althena finishes her story and we all break off to our rooms and rest for the night.
Main Session
The next morning, we all gather again in the dining room and discuss what to do next. Azi wants to go to Talmhain. Vistra and Sorcha want to go to the zoo to see a dinosaur. In the end its decided that we should all go to Talmhain. We have the magic carpet, so the journey won’t take as long as walking. Vedic Prismal (the guy who showed up to late) says he can speed up the trip to the capital. We give him the carpet and he cast Carpet with Haste on it. The carpet will now go 55.1mph instead of the usual 10mph. (80ft per second)
Tigebore brings us our food and we ask her (I think it’s a her, I can’t remember) about the Arobo’s zoo. She tells us it opened recently and it mostly just animals from around the area. We talk about the best way to get to the capital and we decide its best to follow the road to Talmhain but stay at a safe altitude.
Off we go to the capital. Vistra is driving the carpet. Along the way Azi, who grew up in Talmhain, tells the what the city is like. Vistra just keeps driving the carpet and taking sips of her bottles (hates cities too many people). Talhmain is a city of about 20-25,000 people. It diverse and consist of all races. It is ruled by a king called Anamcoil. He’s of the human race and is a good, fair king. His queen died about a decade prior of an illness. They did have children, a son and daughter both are half-elf. Azi says there are many temples to most of the gods; larger gods have bigger temples and the smaller gods have smaller temples. The god of trickery has a small temple. God of knowledge, Ogma, has multiple temples that serve as places of learning such as libraries, lecture halls, etc. The Temple of Nadur, the goddess of nature, has a Royal University located in Embassy Row which is filled with loads of Foreign Dignitaries.
It’s a chilly morning especially flying at tree top level. The Carpet with Haste should last about eight hours and the journey should take us approximately 90-120 minutes. As we get farther away from the town the trees thin out and it becomes mostly grassland. As we’re flying along, we notice a woman standing on a rock watching us. All of a sudden, the carpet comes to a complete stop and we fall to the ground and take damage. We recognize the woman has Diana (who may or may not be the Night Hag, DM can’t make up his mind). Diana yells at us for foiling “F’s” plans to bring Basan back.

- Sorcha

- Diana stands up and launches firebolt and damages Tolvin, Azi and Vistra and kills Tolvins owl.

- Vistra surrounds her in Windwall

- Diana keeps laughing
- Azi gives health to Sorcha, Vistra, Althena, and himself.
- Light keeps coming off Azi like there’s something is trying to come out of him (Diana looks scared of Azi)
- A Dark Elf appears wearing Basan’s ring and takes Diana away with him. But there’s something about him that looks familiar to Vistra.
We get back on the carpet and continue on the flight to the capital. Azi has no idea what was going on with him or why he became all shining. We start to see signs of civilization. As we see the capital the Haste spell begins to wear off and the carpet slows downs. The gates to the city are heavily guarded and the guards aren’t letting some people in. Azi goes up and talks to one of the guards and we allowed entry to the city.
Once in the city, we head towards the docks to find a place to sleep (a.k.a. restock on alcohol). We locate the Topaz Arrow which is lit my gemstones. We meet the owner, Blafa and book lodging. At this point a tall male figure enters the room inn and he’s wearing the robes of Toraches (Wolf Cast). This male goes up to Azi and talks to him for a bit. As he’s leaving, he says he’ll keep an eye on the inn for us.
In the morning we head to towards to Toraches compound. At the gate a woman comes running up to Azi and hugs him and begins to question him about where he’s been. She introduces herself as Lucte or Luate (I can read my handwriting). She also says something happened a week ago. As she begins to tell us what happened, the Patriarch comes out and tells Azi that Hierarch Lyons wants to see us (getting summoned to the principal’s office).
We meet Hierarch Lyons. He informs us the god Toraches wants to talk to us (yikes!!!) Toraches can’t physically appear to us but will communicate through Lyons. Toraches has now taken over Lyons. Toraches tells us he needs our help. (if a god needs our help things must really be bad).
Toraches Highlights
- Basan is Toraches’s brother
- The F on the letters is Foiliag. He’s an agent of Basan and he has the ring (Dark Elf who took Diana)
- Tells Vistra that he’s the reason she has visions. In the battle she fought in, she technically died (say what now) and he pushed her back to life and gave her visions. But he fucked up and sent the visions after the event happened and not before like it’s was meant. He’s gonna try to be better with the timing. (Seriously dude!!!) He also notes that he feels bad for making her a high functioning alcoholic and had been cleansing her body ever since. (He’s insane if he thinks he’s getting a thank you).
- We must destroy the ring and the woman in visions vision (the one in the middle of the circle surrounded by Dark Elves) is the balance of life and death. This child is the product of a forbidden union between two elves.
- Azi has the power to destroy the ring once he channels the power inside him. And his glowing thing is a calling.
- Collector – Parade grounds – make the sun dial show dusk when the crow crows.
- Gifts – gives Azi and Tolvin some info. Gives us all Bracers that will protects us from Basan and help strike down his minions by channeling Toraches once a day. Also allows us to communicate with each other over distances.
- The order had been keeping secrets from Azi in order to protect him. Azi’s father was part of the Wolf Cast but his mother was an Archangel who also happened to be the right hand of Toraches. The order hid Azi and kept oll this info from him to protect him for Basan. The order believes his dad is dead.
