Session 42 Recap

Aengumios 1, 2372 -

Morning at the Shrine (Narrator wasn’t present previous session to know what it's a Shrine to)

Azi gives an inspiring speech. The owl babies (Lilo and Stitch) are still hanging around Sorcha. Sorcha tries to give them a little training (so they don’t try to eat people) but it doesn’t go over so well. Sorcha then reaches out to Kai (Hi Kai). She asks Kai to chat with Gaia about the babies and see if there’s a place for them to live either at the temple or the animal sanctuary. Waiting for a response.

We continue on to Eisgfion. It's a cool morning in the North West of Rharne. We are currently 15 days from the equinox and the big bad. Note: It's been 39 days since we first met in Kasimir.

We arrive at the town limits. The guards don’t look overly happy to see us. As we approach the gates the guards order the gates closed in our faces (like the House of Commons slamming the door on Black Rod). We go up and talk with the guards. They have been ordered by the Mayor not to let us in. After some back and forth we find out Mayor Jackass is mad we let the hobgoblins relocate to another area and defrauding the city. We also find out that Tava is in jail because the mayor is accusing him of taking part in defrauding the city. We have them send a message to the mayor saying we need to talk and imply possible restitution may be paid.

Guards return and informs us the mayor has agreed to see us. They open the gates where we are greeted by more guards who escort us to the mayor's office. We arrive at his office where we are informed by his secretary that he is currently wrapping something up and will be with us shortly. Thirty-five minutes later a little bell rings on the secretary’s deck and she tells us we can go in but we must leave the animals outside.

In the mayor’s office. The mayor greets us and apologizes to us for keeping us waiting (even though it was a total power move.) Althena cast detect thoughts on him. We have a discussion about the supposed defrauding of the city of Eisgfion. The mayor is saying because we didn’t kill the hobgoblins, we simply let them resettle somewhere away from the city. There’s a bit about what he actually wanted verses what he said to do. The mayor is demanding we tell him where we sent the hobgoblins to. Althena detects the thoughts of the mayor. He’s a little pissy and indignant when we mention the king (high elves think they’re better than everyone.) He also wants to know the location of the Hobgoblins so he can send a group called vigilance to take care of them .

After some back and forth we learn a bit about the history between the high elves and the hobgoblins. Tolvin uses his detect magic spell and nothing pops. Eventually it's agreed that we will pay only if Tava is released from prison. The mayor sends for Tava to be brought to his office. While we wait for Tava to arrive, Tolvin sends a message to the King about the hobgoblins and the mayor’s plans for them. The King responds and says they’ll take care of it.

Tava arrives and after some discussion we learn that the mayor never actually paid the bill from Tava. He just ripped it up and threw Tava in jail. So technically we only “defraud” the city by doing what we were asked to do. It's eventually agreed that we will pay the mayor 4,000 gold pieces and we will cover the bill at the Unicorn.

Back at the Unicorn, Tava admits that he inflated the bill just to piss off the mayor. We agreed to a price and paid him. We ask him about the group called the vigilance and he’s never heard of them.

Midday we head to Jamie’s print shop to fill Jamie and Caitlin in omn the day’s event and see if they have received any info on the impossible girl. Nothing. So now what do we do with ourselves?

We decide to head to the house of the woman we followed the other day (the one Azi followed into the house) There’s a lot of guards around the city today and they’re very suspicious of us and keep a very good eye on us. So how do we do what we need to do which is have a peek around the woman’s house. So the drunk and the bard distract the guards long enough for Sorcha to transform into a fly and enter the house.

Inside the house, Sorcha is telling the rest of us what she sees and hears. She hears someone upstairs and goes to investigate. Upstairs there are two bedrooms. The first room is occupied by a woman brushing her hair (not the woman from Vistra’s version). The second bedroom is empty but the bed is unmade so clearly someone had slept here. The house is modestly decorated and there are pictures of Toraches . The woman in the first room also doesn’t look like the woman Azi saw the other day but she was clearly disguising herself.

There is a third door on this floor so Sorcha flies over to it and it immediately repels her. The girl goes downstairs and Sorcha follows. Once downstairs she lights a fire and puts the kettle on for tea. Problem Sorcha is now stuck in the house with no way out now: sends SOS.

Outside the guards are giving us grief for just hanging around. So Althena tells them we’re waiting for our friend Nonnah. The guards aren’t having it so Althena goes and knocks on the door of the house Sorcha is in. Inside the house when the girl hears the knock she changes her appearance (now she looks like the one Azi followed)

She opens the door and says “Your friend’s been buzzing around in here, the rest of you might as well come in.” (busted) Now we’re all in the house. She tells us that Sorcha hitting the magical door gave everything away. She again changes her face, this time showing her true face. Tells us she hasn’t shown anyone this face in 15 years. We have tea and she tells us her time is Naeren. We ask who she’s been hiding from. All she says is it’s a long story. She doesn’t know Foliage.

Her family are followers of Aliyila. Brother is a cleric of Toraches. “Let me tell you about my niece”
