Session 37 Recap

At the Inn, Tava is still running up the bill since the Mayor is paying for it and we’re enjoying lunch. The door opens and a man wearing a hooded cloak walks in and Charlotte immediately pulls a dagger. The cloak has the signal of Aengus (the god with the followers who want to kidnap Charlotte). The guy is clearly in shock at Charlotte pulling a knife on him (I believe he even peed his pants). Nalagon stops Charlotte and says this guy is definitely afraid but Charlotte doesn’t believe him. He introduces himself as Gaeleath Theric. He is a monk of Aengus and he apologies for the over zelest people trying to get Charlotte. He knows of them but they aren’t part of the order anymore. He tells us that Elijah was originally part of the order and while thare found a book and went way overboard with the interpretation of the material. “They based this assumption on some poorly understood prophecy about the right vessel bringing the god onto the plane on a certain night with a certain ritual.” Gaeleath says he keeps tabs on the group and tries to feed them false info whenever possible. He tells us he’s in town to visit the Temple of Agma to hopefully find a way to stop Elijah and his group. He also says he may be able to help us. He has a man on the inside with Elijah and can send in the opposite direction of Charlotte. Charlotte tells Gaeleath to tell them she’s in the capital and she will cover Gaeleath’s tab of the Inn (i.e. its just getting added to the Mayor’s bill).

The door opens again and Tava’s cousin comes in and is happy to see us. He tells us a guy came in through the city’s gates terrified. He said he was attacked by a group of Gnolls. Upon hearing the word Gnolls Charlotte instantly turns ghostly white. She explains her father was afraid of anything except for Gnolls. (Great). Says we have to take out the leader (The Fang) in order to kill the pack. They are a group of humanoid Hyenas who worship and make sacrifices to the demon Yeenoghu. After enough sacrifices he creates a Fang for them to follow. Another guard enters the inn and says there’s been another attack. (THese towns really need to learn to protect their people better.) The attacks are happening on the mountain pass by the river but they have no idea how many Gnolls there are and they want us to go fight them. Charlotte says she will sit this one out and Nalagon charges Tava with protecting her and threatens him if any harm comes to her. Oh and the town guard isn’t going to help and the answer is “yeah No.”

So we headed out to the mountain pass. We come upon 3 Gnolls with an over turn cart and dead horses. We try the stealth thing but the dragon born blows that one.

And we Fight.
