Agency - Session 05 Recap

We pick up in the cave under Arthur Kennedy’s house. He has offered us 50g to get all the Dragon Tears (crystals) from the altar. Using Mage Hand we removed the 2 red crystals (rubies). Thorig noticed that the magic levels on the crystals lowered. We removed the purple crystals (azurite) that didn’t have extra magic around them. As we started removing the last crystal 2 Magma Mephits appeared in front of the altar. As we moved the crystal farther away, 2 more Magma Mephits appeared in the back of the altar.

We fight and kill the 4 Magma Mephits.

After the fight we meet up with Arthur and tell him that we are going to keep the Dragon Tears and he can keep the extra money. He increases his offer to 200g a piece but we turn him down.

We leave and go back to the agency. We fill Uxoria in on what happened. She is not happy about what transpired. She says that she has another job offer for us. The job is working security for a dinner party. She gives us the details and our uniforms for the job. We take some daggers with us, since we can’t carry our normal equipment, which we placed in our Bag of Holding.

We get to the Richard estate and are greeted by Grayson Richard, and his Butler, Jenkins. We get a tour of the house and then setup in the dining room. The guests start to arrive

Grayson lays out his plan to send Magic Items from Galeria to Nagalara and to send magical crystals from Nagalara to Galeria. During dinner the room suddenly goes dark for several minutes. It is a magical darkness that we can not see anything in. We hear a scream and then we hear someone falling to the ground and dropping something. The latter is Jenkins falling and dropping the tray he was carrying.

When the darkness disappears, we see K'laern has been stabbed and Valyun is holding a dagger. Thorig rushes to K'laern and manages to revive him. Richards offers to quintuple our fee to discover who was behind the attack. We start searching the room and interrogating the quest. After some intimidating use of the Message spell, we discover that T'ssara had hired Jenkins to kill her husband, since divorce is not allowed in Galeria.

After T'ssara has been detained, K'laern suggests that his sister take his wife's place in this deal.

We collect our gold and head back to the agency and have a long rest.
