Garret has a conversion (of sorts) with the Drow Mage (he gets tired of us calling him “Sir” so he tells us his name). Highlights: This group isn’t happy with Rharne’s allegiance with Galarian and more particularly the trading that occurs between the two nations. See Galarian and Nagilira were at war with each other a while back and Galarian used magic to help them win the war and Nagilira is strongly opposed to the use of magic. (Side note: Foiliag is from Nagilira and magic is what is believed to have killed his family and imprisoned him.) There’s also a religious element to the animosity between Nagilira and Rharne. (it;s always religion). Nahilira = one true god, Rharne = multi-god system. Garret tells them if they attack it will be seen as an act of war but Bymric is here on his own accords and not official business so he has free range to do whatever he wants. Brymric doesn’t want war; he's just hoping Garret would agree to retire and that way Rharne would send someone less adequate and helpful to Galarian. | ||

| + | Meanwhile our group is getting antsy (we haven’t fought anyone in a few hours and we’re going through withdrawal). Tolvin has his wand ready and he and Brymric are in a sort of Mexican standoff. Finally we have had enough. Azi cast silence on the invisible dot that is in the same place as the head of Brymric. Tolvin then cast a 8th level fireball which kills the 4 Cultists and 1 of the Cult Fanatics. Luckily Tolvin was able to sculpt the spell and didn't burn down the Inn but the tables are slightly signed. While Tolvin is doing this we notice his eyes are glowing and his skin is turning scaly and bronze (he probably should see a doctor about that). | ||
| + | At this point Brymic tries to say something and realizes he’s in a cone of silence and glares at Azi. We now enter combat. Althena wips a Fanatic to death and Sven throws the last one through the door (and Ben’s whole plan for the day is killed as well.) The Drow Mage exits the cone of silence and surrenders saying he didn’t know Garret had us a protection. Tolvin ties him up. Garret tells us what we did could technically seem as an act of war. We just glare at Garret. Garret says Brymric will somehow be tried or simply put on a ship and sent home. | ||

| + | Azi drops the cone of silence and Amanda (who by the way was in the cone can now hear) is surprised by all the stuff we can do. We again bring up how Kazimir is supposedly a “safe town”. We loot and dispose of the bodies. Amanda feeds us lunch and alcohol. Sven goes behind the bar and helps himself. We interrogate the Drow Mage a little more. We learn they arrived by boat in Madatricona and walked to Kazimir. They knew Garret would be here and they’ve been watching the town. He says if they went to war then Nagilira would be able to spread the word of the one true god to the heathens of the world. | ||

| + | Nalagon arrives (again late) and immediately goes to see if Amanda is okay. Then she goes to talk to Garrat about making sure the town will be safe while she’s away with us for a couple of days (finally someone is coming to their senses). We chat with Nalagon about the plan for our journey: we will meet at the Inn early in the morning and set out. Someone asks Nalagon how we will find Verul. Nagalon says our presence in her forest will be enough; she will realize there are people in her forest who aren’t supposed to be there and she will come looking. | ||

| + | It's now late and the group is ready to break off for the evening. Nalagon leaves to make last minute preparations for the trip. Garret says he will take charge of the prisoner and takes him to the manor where he will be kept under the watchful eye of Jenkins. Althena decides to play some music. | ||

| + | The next morning we gather for breakfast. Tovlin’s beard is bushier and longer again. (he really should see a barber about that). Garret joins us for breakfast and tells us there were no issues with the prisoner last night. Just then two guards from Madatricona walk in (the law has finally arrived) and Garret goes to talk to them about Brymic. Garret comes back to the group and tells us the guards said a lot of people were coming back to Madatricona talking about what's been happening here in Kazimir. The officials in Madatricone have decided to set up a satellite office in Kazimir for a period of time as a trial run to see what happens. The guards take custody of Brymic. Garret says he will be returning to Galarian in a couple days and will spend his time here in Kazimir with his family and Amanda. | ||

| + | Nalagon enters and chats with Amanda while eating her breakfast. We then get ready to head out. We head out on the easterly road out of Kazimir (the same road we took to get to the keep on day one). It is a slightly chilly morning. We have a feeling that we’re being watched. We pass farmhouses and pastures. We pass Caitlyn’s father’s farm and some of the group chat about how the garden looks and say Francis did a good job keeping it up. Meanwhile Vistra’s standing there like who the hell is Francis. At this point the group remembers Vistra wasn’t present to that and fills her in. We keep on walking and make it to the location of our first “battle” and the path to the Temple of Ailiya. A High Elf comes walking down the path from the temple and is surprised to see other people on the road. He soon realizes we are the Ailiya of Five (and now Nalagon has the what the hell look). The High Elf tells us he’s working on cleaning out the temple and should we ever pass by again the temple will be happy to house and feed us (we haven’t paid for room or board since the start, are we freeloaders??) We continue on our journey and fill Nalagon on what happened a few weeks ago (though it seems like a year and half). | ||

| + | We continue on the journey and hear a familiar voice. It's Dryad the leafy person from our first journey to the keep. She says her group has been keeping an eye on us and she’s been rebuilding the forest and they're getting closer to the keep. We ask her what’s the least offensive way of getting in touch with Verul. She says don’t worry Verul will notice us. Nalagon has a lot more questions about who the hell we are and what the hell did we do. Sorcha fills her in. Now it’s our turn to ask Nalagon some questions. How does she plan on getting Verul to release Dileas. Her plan is to talk to Verul and try to convince her to release Dileas. The worst thing we could do is attack; go in peacefully. What does Verul want with him? Highlights: N and D were brother’s in arms and while following orders got a little too close to Verul’s forest and some of her people died (this was all before Rharne joined together). After the battle, treaties were signed and bygones became bygones but Dileas went and did some stupid shit after and that got him in trouble with Verul. | ||

| + | We continue down the road. It’s starting to get dark. Nalagon says she has a place for us to stay but it's another 60-90 minute walk down the road. Tolvin provides light with his shields. It's now nighttime and we hear the sounds of the forest. It’s a clear night with no clouds. We come to a hut which appears to be abandoned. Nalagon says this is where we are staying. Her friend lives here. She knocks on the door but there is no answer so she just lets herself in while the rest of us set up camp. Nalagon comes out and says there’s no sign of him and that he must be out hunting or something. Nalagon seems a little concerned he’s not here. She tells us his name is Adasin and he used to be an interrogator in her unit. After the war he wanted to lead a quiet life and came out here. | ||

| + | The group is tired and decides it's time for bed. Vistra takes the first watch. While everyone is settling in the tent, Vistra goes exploring in the cabin. It is a small hut consisting of one big room with a desk, unmade bed, etc. At one end of the hut is a stone wall with a locked door. Vistra rings Althena through the bracers and Althena comes to open the door. In side they see a barrel of alcohol (at least that’s what Vistra sees first) and two dead bodies chained to the wall. They look funny. They have decayed a little but we can see parts of them are missing (a muscle here and there and skin missing in parts). Althena sends out a RED ALERT to the rest of the group. Azi and Sorcha come out of the tent (Tolvin has to stay in tent because of magic). We come out of the hut to talk to them just as a bear has enter the camp site. Sorcha uses her abilities to speak with the bear. The bear says “what are you doing in my house?” Then transforms into a bear human thingy (also known as a werebear). This is Adasin and he sees Nalagon who asks what happened to him. And he says “it’s a long story” (That’s usually our line). | ||

We pick up where we left off. We’re in the Armored Goat with Garret and Amanda. Also in attendance is a Drow Mage (named Bymric), 3 Cult Fanatics, and 4 Cultists (who bare a striking resemblance to Tom Cruise). It is clear they are here for Garret.
Sorcha looks at Garret and asks “What the hell did you do?” Garret says these people are from the country of Nagilira and he’s gonna go be diplomatic and talk to them to say what's going.
Meanwhile our group is getting antsy (we haven’t fought anyone in a few hours and we’re going through withdrawal). At this point Brymic tries to say something and realizes he’s in a cone of silence and glares at Azi.
Azi drops the cone of silence and Amanda (who by the way was in the cone can now hear) is surprised by all the stuff we can do.
Nalagon arrives (again late) and immediately goes to see if Amanda is okay.
It's now late and the group is ready to break off for the evening. Nalagon leaves to make last minute preparations for the trip. Garret says he will take charge of the prisoner and takes him to the manor where he will be kept under the watchful eye of Jenkins. Althena decides to play some music.
The next morning we gather for breakfast.
Nalagon enters and chats with Amanda while eating her breakfast.
We continue on the journey and hear a familiar voice.
We continue down the road.
The group is tired and decides it's time for bed. Vistra takes the first watch. While everyone is settling in the tent, Vistra goes exploring in the cabin. It is a small hut consisting of one big room with a desk, unmade bed, etc. At one end of the hut is a stone wall with a locked door.
