We arrive back at the end after our adventure to the Zoo. While we are all sitting around eating dinner and man walks through the door and comes straight to our table (all these open tables and he comes to ours). He introduces himself as Garrett Stormraven (oh this dude). We begin to chat with each other. He arrived in Mad about an hour ago and heard there is a group of people (us) traveling to Kasimir. He says he’s come back to Rharne for his father’s birthday and asks if he can join us on our journey to Kasimir. We warn him that everywhere we go we seem to eventually find us. He says “seeing as you’re all still alive I’ll take my chances with you”.

Okay so the dude is coming along with us. We tell him we will be leaving in two days. At this point everyone heads to their rooms except for Vistra (stays up to drink) and Althena who stays with Vistra to work on a ballot of our adventures.

The next morning at breakfast, Gene comes running over to the table in a terrible state. He says Jasmine didn't come home unless. (Well actually she came home with us from the zoo, but the DM forgot that, so apparently she left after we all arrived back home). Somehow we find out she’s been kidnapped and we’re off to rescue her. We arrive at the cave she’s being held in. We storm through the cave, roast some goblins and take some gold (yes more money for booze) We rescue Jasmine and 3 other females around the same age but of varying races. We loot the charred remains of the goblins and surprisingly find a map on one of the charred remains but yet the map is undamaged.

The goblins do admit that they kidnap girls and hold them for ransom (maybe connected to Foiliag getting the girl??)

So we saved the girls and headed back to Mad. Once we reached the city limits the other girls we rescued departed the group and headed to their homes. We take Jasmine back to the Monkey’s Uncle. Once back at the inn, there is a happy reunion between Gene and Jasmine. Gene informs us that after we left he received a ransom note but refused to pay it because he was pretty confident we were gonna save his daughter (damn straight). We question Jasmine about the other girls. She tells us she only knew one of the girls, her friend Sophie. She tells there were Hags (or either we knew there were Hags there, don’t have that writing down). She says the Hags were examining the girls to see if they were close to childbearing age and trying to convince each girl to give them their first born baby. Jasmine says the other girls were there when she was taken and that one of the girls told her there was an infant there but the baby was gone before Jasmine arrived.

We pull out the uncharred map and there are five locations circled on it: one is the Monkey’s Uncle and Jasmine says one is Sophie’s house. Gene thinks an elf family lives in one of the other houses. Just then Sorcha remembers something about Hags; they’re all women. She then tells us what she remembers about their reproduction. “Hags sometimes raise the daughters they spawn, creating covens. A hag might also return the child to its grieving parents, only to watch from the shadows as the child grows up to become a horror. Hags propagate by snatching and devouring human infants. After stealing a baby from its cradle or its mother’s womb, the hag consumes the poor child. A week later, the hag gives birth to a daughter who looks human until her thirteenth birthday, whereupon the child transforms into the spitting image of her hag mother. Hags sometimes raise the daughters they spawn, creating covens. A hag might also return the child to its grieving parents, only to watch from the shadows as the child grows up to become a horror.”

We head to the houses to talk to the girls (we don’t have enough trouble with trouble finding us so now we’re heading out looking for it). Gene decided to come along to help smooth things over with the other families.

House 1 - Decent size house, Woman opens the door and we enter. We tell her we’re the ones you brought Sophie back to her. We chat for a little bit and ask Sophie about the other two girls that were with her. SHe says they are High Elves. Sophie's mother says she received a ransom note and reported the kidnapping to the Madatricona “police”.

House 2 - Elven decor on full display. Butler opens the door and says this is his master’s house. We tell him we know a girl from the house was kidnapped because we rescued her. He lets us in. The Master enters the room and thanks us for saving his daughter and says he hopes we took care of all the Hags. He tells us that the fourth girl is Vetele and she lives at one of the other houses circled on the map, but her family is currency packing up and leaving town. He does tell us that the final circle house on the map belongs to the mayor and his wife recently had a baby.

House 4 - The Mayor’s House (Mayor Ibras and Wife Lily). - There’s some conversation back and forth but basically their daughter was taken from her crib, they received a ransom note and the city guard have been on it (which explains why the city guard did nothing about the other girls; they were two busy with the mayor’s child). Sorcha tells them the baby is dead. The mayor thanks us for doing everything we could.

Back at the Monkey Uncle, everyone is now drinking. A high Elf man and girl come up to our table. The girl is the other girl we rescued, Vestele. She tells us she was the first one taken five days ago and remembers the baby and confirms what we already told the mayor that baby mayor was consumed by the Hags.

This is a day for drinking. Garret enters and we tell him about our day and what we’ve been through. We learn that Amriel’s armour is ready for pick up. The Mayor enters and thanks us for rescuing the other girls and telling him about his daughter. Azi goes and does some shopping. We drink the night away and in the morning we pick up the armor. We start our journey north to Kasimir. We have a cart and we are making good time up the coast. After being on the road for a few hours we reach the edge of Verul’s forest and a line of Goblins (4) are blocking our path. A voice shouts from behind the rocks “for too long you’ve to many of us and now we want you cursed weapons”. So this is gonna be done the hard way.

We fight and as usual we take everyone out, even a giant fog cloud one of the baddies summoned. (Garret just stood in the back and watched over the cart and didn’t fight). We looted the bodies and found a map of the far east coast of Rharne on the warlord.

WE REST.
